I discovered that the forearm was loose and the band would not tighten. I replaced the band and the problem was solved. There was only one era in my life when I was truely free.The Marlin 336 Classic is just that! Initially the Classic is only available in .30-30 Winchester however I believe the good folks at Ruger will eventually make the rifle in .35 Remington as well. Fingers crossed....
